The Long Road To Learning
Deb and her sister were the first generation in her family to pursue higher education. Her opportunities were enhanced and magnified by becoming a young mother, attending law school and becoming sober.
From Organizer To Office
Deb discovered her passion as she began working on policy and advocacy, while still in law school. She learned grassroots skills to effectively support candidates and to eventually pursue her very own seat for election.
Lessons From The Interior
Deb focused her administration’s efforts on bringing attention and published reports on the failed history of federal Indian boarding schools. She has held the line on protecting resources and lands throughout Indian Country.
